About this course
University of Sussex offers Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher Status) MA as a 1-year postgraduate Masters Degree (Taught) programme in Teaching and Education. Based in Brighton, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £7,000 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 7 overall. The next intake is Autumn (September), 2026.

Entry requirements
Degree requirements - You should normally have a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above. Subject-specific requirements - If you are a graduate: your qualification can be in any subject, you should have some relevant work experience (this can be paid or voluntary). If you are currently working in the Early Years sector: your qualification can be in any subject, you must be currently working in a UK school or nursery in an Early Years or Foundation class setting. For both the graduate and employment-based route, you must have achieved a GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English, maths and a science subject.
