About this course
University of Sussex offers MPhil Astronomy as a 3-year postgraduate Masters Degree (Research) programme in Astronomy. Based in Brighton, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £27,300 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6 overall. Intakes run across 4 windows (Spring (January), 2027 and Spring 1 (April), 2026…).

Entry requirements
You’re normally expected to have a Merit (an average of 60percentage overall) in a Masters degree OR an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree. Subject-specific requirements- Your qualification should be in a relevant subject such as physics, astronomy or mathematics. You may also be considered for the degree if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
