About this course
University of Plymouth offers MDes Design as a 1-year postgraduate Masters Degree (Taught) programme in Product Design. Based in Plymouth, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £18,700 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 90. The next intake is Semester 1 (September), 2026.

Entry requirements
A 2:2 degree in Design (or similar design-related discipline such as Product Design, Digital Design, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Interior Design, among others). Suitable references from previous academic institutions and/or employers. Applications must include a portfolio of work. Ideally, the portfolio of work includes evidence of work experience in the design sector.
