About this course
University of Essex offers LLM International Law as a 1-year postgraduate Masters Degree (Taught) programme in Law. Based in Colchester, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £23,875 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 91. Intakes run across 2 windows (Autumn (October), 2026 and Spring (January), 2027).

Entry requirements
A 2:2 Degree in Law or a joint honours Degree in another subject with Law. Applicants who do not hold a Law Degree but who have at least six months of relevant professional experience, traineeships, or professional qualifications/certifications issued by professional bodies such as Bar Associations can apply and will be considered.
