About this course
University of Derby offers MSc Midwifery (Pre-registration) as a 2-year postgraduate Masters Degree (Taught) programme in Nursing and midwifery. Based in Derby, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £17,500 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 7 overall or TOEFL iBT 100. Intakes run across 2 windows (Spring (January), 2027 and Autumn (September), 2026).
Scholarships are available to international applicants. The programme includes an industry internship element.

Entry requirements
Applicants are required to be a Registered Adult Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC Register for a minimum of six months and to be currently employed by a local trust. They must hold an undergraduate degree with a minimum classification of 2:1 in nursing or another health and social care–related programme; evidence of Level 6 study will also be considered. Additionally, applicants must complete an Occupational Health Assessment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the selection process, and any offer of admission will be conditional upon satisfactory completion of these requirements.
