About this course
University of Bradford offers PhD (School of Chemistry and Biosciences) as a 3-year doctoral Ph.D. programme in Chemical Sciences. Based in Bradford, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £19,500 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6 overall or TOEFL iBT 80. Intakes run across 4 windows (June, 2026 and October, 2026…).

Entry requirements
Faculty research is very important and recruitment of high quality postgraduate research students is a key part of the Faculty of Life Sciences strategic plan. Selection of PGR students will be subject to successful interview (either in person or by Skype or conference call) by the supervisory team and one independent member of academic staff with significant PGR supervisory experience. If English is not your first language, we ask for a minimum standard entry requirement of 6.0 IELTS (with sub tests not lower than 5.5). Students need to have an overall TOEFL score of at least 80, and sub-tests not less than 18 in Reading, 17 in Writing, 17 in Listening and 20 in Speaking.
