About this course
University of Aberdeen offers Process Safety Engineering (MSc) as a 1-year postgraduate Masters Degree (Taught) programme in Engineering. Based in Aberdeen, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £26,250 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 90. Intakes run across 2 windows (Term 1 (September), 2026 and Term 1 (January), 2027).
Scholarships are available to international applicants. The programme includes an industry internship element.

Entry requirements
You must also have covered the following key subjects: Mathematics and Thermodynamics.
Students should have 2:2 UK honours degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, or 2:2 UK honours degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering with evidence of your strengths in key aspects of Chemical Engineering, or A high 2:2 UK honours degree (or equivalent) in Engineering and at least two years’ relevant industry experience.
