About this course
Manchester Metropolitan University offers BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering as a 3-year undergraduate Bachelor Degree with Honours programme in Mechanical Engineering. Based in Manchester, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £20,000 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6 overall or TOEFL iBT 79. Intakes run across 2 windows (Semester 1 (October), 2026 and Semester (September), 2026).

IELTS (Academic) Or IELTS for UKVI (Academic) Or IELTS Online (Academic) - 6.0, with no component below 5.5 Pearson Test of English Academic (‘PTE Academic’) Or PTE Academic UKVI Or PTE Academic Online - 61, with no less than 59 in any section; Cambridge English B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency tests - 170 points overall, with no component below 160 points; TOEFL iBT (from test centre or home edition)– Designated Institution Code, for applicants who want their scores sent directly to us - 0240 - Overall score: 79 With no individual test score below: Listening: 17 Reading: 18 Speaking: 20 Writing : 17.

AS levels, or qualifications equivalent to AS level, are not accepted. The Extended Project qualification (EPQ) may be accepted towards entry, in conjunction with two A level-equivalent qualifications.
A maximum of three A level-equivalent qualifications will be accepted towards meeting the UCAS tariff requirement.
T level - Overall grade Merit in Design and Development for Engineering; Engineering, Manufacturing, Process and Control; or Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing
IB Diploma - Pass overall with a minimum overall score of 26 or minimum 104 UCAS Tariff points from three Higher Level subjects, to include HL Mathematics in either: Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation
EAL Level 3 Technical Extended Diploma in Engineering Technologies - minimum overall grade of Distinction and to include a pass in both Engineering Mathematics and Further Engineering Mathematics
Access to HE Diploma - Pass overall in Engineering or Science with a minimum 106 UCAS Tariff points
Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma or OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - grade DMM in Engineering to include a Pass in Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems
UCAS tariff points GCE A levels - grades BCC or equivalent, and to include minimum grade D in at least one of Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Mathematics and Statistics or Pure Mathematics
