About this course
Heriot-Watt University offers MA Fashion and Textiles Design as a 1-year postgraduate Masters Degree (Taught) programme in Crafts and textiles. Based in Galashiels, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £20,456 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 85. Intakes run across 2 windows (Semester 2 (January), 2027 and Semester 1 (September), 2026).
Scholarships are available to international applicants. The programme includes an industry internship element.

Entry requirements
A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree or non-UK equivalent. A portfolio, or other supporting evidence that demonstrates an understanding of design-led processes and outcomes. Examples may be fashion and/or textiles design, but other evidence demonstrating a broad base of creative practice is equally considered. Evidence of creative-related experience from a work environment is also encouraged. Please include your CV as part of your application.
