About this course
Durham University offers BA (Hons) Music as a 3-year undergraduate Bachelor Degree with Honours programme in Music. Based in Durham, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £28,500 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 92. Intakes run across 2 windows (Michaelmas (October), 2026 and September, 2026).

Entry requirements
A level offer – AAB including Music.When applicants have not been given the opportunity to take A level Music, or a qualification requiring an equivalent level of music theory understanding, we ask for evidence of such understanding (in addition to 3 other A levels). We will accept ABRSM Grade 6 Theory as evidence. Applicants who have not followed the ABRSM route are invited to contact the Music Department to ask about alternative arrangements for assessing theoretical understandingBTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma/OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma – DDD plus Music as above.IB Diploma score – 36 with 665 in higher level subjects, including Music requirements as above.
