About this course
Bath Spa University offers BA (Hons) Creative Writing and Drama Studies as a 3-year undergraduate Bachelor Degree with Honours programme in Creative Arts. Based in Bath, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £16,675 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6 overall or TOEFL iBT 72. The next intake is Semester 1 (September), 2026.

Entry requirements
A Level - grades BBB-BCC including a Grade B in English or a related subject. BTEC – Extended Diploma grades from Distinction Distinction Merit (DDM) to Distinction Merit Merit (DMM) in any subject. Applicants will need to demonstrate a strong interest in Creative Writing in their personal statement and may be asked to provide a piece of their own creative writing. T Levels – grade Merit preferred in a relevant subject. International Baccalaureate – a minimum of 32 points are required with a minimum of grade 5 in English at Higher Level. IELTS 6.0 - for visa nationals, with a minimum score of IELTS 5.5 in each element. TOEFL iBT- A total of 72, to include a minimum 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening, 20 in Speaking, and 17 in Writing.
