About this course
Aston University, Birmingham offers MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence as a 1-year postgraduate Masters Degree (Taught) programme in Artificial Intelligence. Based in Birmingham, the programme is delivered by the university's specialist faculty and welcomes international applicants from across Africa and beyond.
Tuition is £24,800 per year. English-language entry requires IELTS 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 93. Intakes run across 2 windows (Term 1 (September), 2026 and Term 3 (April), 2026).

Entry requirements
The mathematics and programming grades should all be equivalent to UK 60% or higher in the case where the applicant’s background is not in mathematics, statistics, or data science. All candidates should supply a degree transcript with their application evidencing their knowledge as above, alongside a professional reference. You may also be interviewed before the offer decision.
Applicants should have had prior learning in probability theory, statistics, linear algebra, multivariable calculus, and optimisation.
A bachelor's degree in a non-computing subject, with at least 2:2 (or equivalent) and GCSE Mathematics Grade B or equivalent. Applications with a computing background may also apply, subject to the Programme Director's approval.
